On
November 2nd & 3rd the warmth of the glow from hundreds of candles lining
the streets will take you back to a time when life seemed less hectic and
communities reveled in the joy of the season and the comraderie of friends,
family, and neighbours. Bask in the ambience, partake of festive foods and enjoy the music while you meander from shop to shop, as well as the open studios of various artists, during the extended hours of 10 am till 8 pm. This Magic of Candlelight event also marks the beginning of Burnstown’s 4th annual fund-raising season for the Salvation Army. Once again outdoor lantern kits will be sold (perfect for adding a welcoming glow to your walkway, lawn, deck or driveway). Please set
aside some time to enjoy a wonderful day and evening in Burnstown (only
45 min north-west of Ottawa enroute to Calabogie) on November 2nd &
3rd where you’ll find gifts worth giving! The shopkeepers of Burnstown look

Burnstown's
Salvation Army fund raising efforts continue on Nov.30-Dec.2 when Beyond
the Bulrushes opens their entire space to the public. This beautiful
heritage log building will be fully decorated for the festive season. In
return for allowing you to have a tour we ask only for a monetary donation
for the Salvation Army. Last year the event raised several hundred dollars.
Enjoy the sights and scents of the season and take away some ideas for adorning your own space while supporting a good cause. The Open House hours are Friday Nov. 30 11-8pm,Sat. Dec.1 11-8pm and Sun. Dec.2 11-5pm. The other shops and galleries in the village will also be extending their hours for this weekend. Your Christmas spirit is sure to be raised with seasonal refreshments, music and the beautiful decor! This is the perfect opportunity to help the Salvation Army and at the same time do some Christmas shopping with the best of personal service, selection and a wonderful atmosphere! |
